BEGIN YOUR WELLNESS JOURNEY.

Virtual Therapy

Individual therapy is offered virtually to those in any PSYPACT state and New York. Individual sessions are 45 minutes each, once weekly, unless requesting a longer session or engaging in EMDR (55 minute sessions).

During our initial intake appointment, I will explore your history and learn more about what brought you to therapy. From there, we may work collaboratively either towards specific goals you are hoping to accomplish, or to gain greater insight into who you are and where you are going in your life. Initial intake sessions are 60 minutes and conducted once.

Treatment Styles:

I utilize a variety of treatment modalities based on individual needs and respecting you as a person, while forming a trusting relationship. I was trained as a psychodynamic clinician, focusing on underlying feelings, thoughts, and behaviors providing insight into these processes. I approach each case through an integrative lense however, combining strategies as needed such as mindfulness and CBT, EMDR, and I am a trauma-informed Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP).

My approach to therapy is holistic, recognizing that mental health is influenced by various aspects of our lives. Together, we will examine how your personal, cultural, and societal factors intersect with your mental well-being. By integrating mindfulness and a deeper understanding of your experiences, we will work towards creating a fulfilling and balanced life.

I am committed to embracing diversity, and neurodiversity and LGBTQ+ affirming in my practice. Specializing in serving BIPOC populations, I believe that every individual deserves a compassionate and non-judgmental therapeutic environment. Regardless of your background or identity, if you are ready to engage in the therapeutic process, I am here to guide you on towards your therapeutic goals.

Please reach out to schedule a virtual therapy session. Let's embark on this transformative journey together. Whether you are coming to therapy for the first time, transferring clinicians, or coming back after a break, I welcome you to engage at a pace you are ready for.

Safe and Sound protocol

Dr. Golshani is certified to deliver the Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP), a powerful listening therapy designed to reduce hearing sensitivities and help regulate the autonomic nervous system. Contact me for details, or visit WhatistheSSP.com to learn more.

  • A 5-hour auditory intervention developed and patented by Dr. Stephen Porges, author of the Polyvagal Theory.

  • Designed to reduce sound sensitivity, and improve auditory processing and behavioral state regulation.

  • Activates the client’s social engagement system, helping to accelerate and enhance therapeutic outcomes.

  • Supports physiological state regulation, allowing for greater resilience.

Highlights of the SSP:

What is the Safe and Sound Protocol?

The Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) is an evidence-based listening therapy designed to reduce sound sensitivities and improve auditory processing, behavioral state regulation, and social engagement behaviors through filtered music.

As a practical application of Polyvagal Theory, the SSP acts as a non-invasive, acoustic vagal nerve stimulator, helping to retune the nervous system to better support connection, collaboration and resilience.

The SSP involves listening to specially filtered music through headphones alongside a provider in person or remotely. Suitable for children and adults, the SSP has demonstrated benefits for individuals with trauma, anxiety, sensory processing differences and more.

Supports many symptoms and conditions

The SSP may be helpful in reducing symptoms and supporting overall health and resiliency for people seeking support for:

  • Depression and anxiety

  • Neurodevelopmental differences, such as autism, hyperactivity and attention

  • Learning difficulties

  • Sensory processing differences

  • Trauma history

  • And more

“Healing is about taking the time to notice what gets in the way of feeling connected to your life, your community, and your sense of possibility. Healing, at its core, is about slowing down so that we can better listen, to ourselves and each other.”
